Mary
Evans, (mmevans@easystreet.com), is
Forum Manager of QAF. She writes, " I'm an accountant, running
my own full-time home-based business. I have 3 grown children with families
of their own, including 7 dear grandchildren, and a black cat named Miss
Molly.
"I've been sewing most all of my life, making garments, home dec, and then, quilting for the last 5 years, so most of garment making these days is quilted garments, and/or children's clothing. I wish I could sew or quilt all day every day. I also knit, crochet, cross-stitch, needlepoint, and do many kinds of crafting. (Or should say, I used to do those things before I took up quilting!) I have also dyed fabric, and am interested in learning about other methods of fabric decoration. "I have been
on Delphi for over two years, and have co-hosted the Quilting topic on
the Textile Arts Forum for much of that time. I love browsing Web pages,
especially quilt related or book related, and am really happy being an
information junkie. I have made some great online friends and am looking
forward to meeting a great many more." |

is QAF Swaps and Activitiy Coordinator. Robin has lots of experience
participating and leading swaps on several different online services, including

until she was about 24...and hasn't stopped since. Robin enjoys learning
and trying new techniques. She says, "I had only made traditional bedquilts
from traditional blocks until I found the world of cyberquilting, which
expanded my skills, thoughts, and ideas in a way that I never dreamed possible.
What was once my hobby has truly been turned into a manner of expressing
myself." |

Kathy Larson (BEARLARSON@delphi.com),
is QAF Nighttime ChatWebster. Better known to many, as
"Bear", she is a lover of old/antique tops and quilts. She herself,
had never made a quilt until she walked into a quilt/craft supply store
for doll hair about 7 years ago and saw a quilt hanging on the wall that
she just HAD to have. Needless to say, the quilt was a class sample. Two
days later, "Bear" was making her very first quilt. A lap sized,
"Road to Oklahoma". She accidentally fell into the Quilting topic on Prodigy a short time later, when she came online looking for doll makers. Since then, she has little time for doll making, and spends much of her time buying fabric, sewing, gardening and "chatting" with her online friends from Prodigy, Genie and now Delphi. "Bear" says " I cherish the wonderful friends I have made online. They are a very important part of my life." |
| Sandy
Wheeler, (SANDYANGEL@delphi.com), is
QAF Technical Assistance Coordinator & BOM Designer. Sandy, also
known as Angel is married to Jim and they have one son, Jason who is 18.
Sandy writes, "We also have four, four-legged "kids"; 3 basset
hounds and a rather confused cocker spaniel...he thinks he's a basset hound.
We've also got a cat in the menagerie, a gray kitten my husband named PuttPutt
who also seems to think he's a dog.
"I grew up as an Army brat and then spent 14 years in the Army myself. My husband, Jim is retired from the Army. We met square dancing when we were stationed in Germany and were married in Switzerland. "I've been quilting
since about 1989. The ladies on Prodigy got me started. I logged onto
Prodigy and in what was then the Hobbies area, I found the quilters. They
were the ones that looked like they were having the most fun. I posted
a couple of messages, but wasn't quite sure what this strange language
they were speaking was.....Fat quarters? Churn Dash? I decided I'd take
a beginner quilting class at one of the quilt shops here just so I could
learn what they were talking about and they wouldn't figure out that I
wasn't a quilter too. I took the class (project still isn't quilted) and
got hooked. Now quilting has kind of taken over my life. I became a representative
for Electric Quilt when EQ1 came out and have been traveling and showing
that ever since. I also teach quilt classes at Harriet's TreadleArts and
design and publish my own patterns." |
