Here is Mara with a very cute
quilt she made for her sister's grandson, Aksel, who lives in Denmark..
She
started with some green nine-patch blocks from our monthly 6" 9-patch
swaps,
and made
additional
blocks with some baby animal fabrics in them. She finished with a very
cute Bear applique that she designed. The baby's name is from an alphabet
she found online. |

Ruth Evans received a tin
with squares of all the Seaside Rose fabric line, with a CD with the

Ruth found the kit for this quilt while on a 'trek' with her local small
quilt group to Rupert, ID. They go to the LQS there called 'The Gathering
Place'. Great group of fabrics in this one! |

QAF
Forum Host Mary Evans, 'Garden Trellis' quilt
made for her daughter and son-in-law, Daniel's
parents, who reside with them in
Israel. It's made using the Contrary Wife block,
and from strips of floral fabrics
from swapping with one of Mary's local friends. There are 81 blocks, and
thus, 81 different florals in the quilt. Each block
contains 5 squares cut
from one of the floral fabrics. Quilt is machine pieced by Mary and custom
machine quilted on a long-arm machine by Kim Frahm of WA. Made in 1998/99

This
Flower Garden quilt was made by Mary for her son and daughter-in-law. When
she asked Karen what kind of quilt she would like, and showed her the
Kaffe
Fassett book "Glorious Patchwork", she turned right to the quilts like this
one and said 'this is what I want'. So here it is! The quilting is very
similar to that on her daughter's Garden Trellis quilt, and many of the
fabrics appear in both quilts, something she also wanted. It was very quick
and easy, and fun to make. |

Mary
made this 'Stars & Stepping Stones' quilt from a pattern in the book by
the same name for her #1 grandson, Daniel. He is pictured here with his
quilt a few months before the family moved to Israel. Mary collected blues
for the longest time so she'd have enough to make it - it has over 40 different
fabrics in it. Daniel helped lay out the blocks for the quilt which Mary
machine pieced and machine quilted. |
