Assembly Instructions: Refer to numbered diagram for help in cutting and sewing pieces.

Sew 1 #3 triangle to one #4 triangle, matching short sides. Sew a #3 triangle to the other short side of the #4 triangle. Repeat with remaining #3 & #4 triangles to make 4 sets.

Sew a #2 triangle to the free side of one #3 triangle, matching the long side of the #2 triangle to the short side of the #3 triangle. Sew a #2 triangle to the #3 triangle on the opposite side of the set, again matching the long side of the #2 to the short side of the #3 triangle. Repeat with remaining three #3/4 triangle sets.

Sew a #1 square to each end of 2 of the sets you just finished to make two long strips. Set aside. These will be unit #2 and should measure 2 1/2" x 12 1/2". The sets without the end squares will be unit #3 and should measure 2 1/2" x 8 1/2"

Sew a #5 triangle to one side of a #6 square, matching short side of the triangle to the side of the square. Sew a second #5 triangle to an adjoining side of the square, again matching short side of triangle to the side of the square. Repeat with remaining #5 triangles and #4 squares.

Sew a #2 triangle to one side of the #5/6 triangle you just made. Match the long side of the #2 triangle to a short side of the #5/6 triangle. Sew a second #2 triangle to the other short side of the #5/6 triangle. Repeat with the remaining #5/6 and #2 triangles.

Sew a #5 square to each end of two of these sets. Set aside. These will be unit #4 and should measure 2 1/2" x 8 1/2". The two sets without end triangles will be unit #3 and should measure 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"

To finish block, sew one Unit #3 to one side of the center square (patch #7). Sew the other Unit #3 to the opposite side. Sew one Unit #4 to the third side of the center square and the other Unit #4 to the opposite side. You now have a large center square. To this center square, sew one Unit #1 to one side of the square. Sew the other Unit #1 to the opposite side. Sew one Unit #2 to the third side of the large square and the remaining Unit #2 to the opposite side.
